Data Protection Act (GDPR)

CMOA have been informed that the association has to comply with the new data protection act which comes into force on 25 May 2018. It is necessary for any club – charity or association that holds members details on computer must have the consent of the member and to be informed how their information is used and protected.

A compliant form and covering letter is being sent to all members. On receipt members are required to complete and sign acceptance. The form will be held by the Treasurer.

Members cooperation is required in completing the form and returning it promptly to the Treasurer. It is a major task for him and will take up a consierable amount of his volunteer time.

There are severe cost penalties for non compliance. CMOA does not want to get caught out.
