Owners Update – COVID19  – Tuesday 05th January 2021

Hello ! We hope you are keeping well ?

I write further to the Prime Ministers speech last night where he outlined details of a new immediate national lockdown which is hopefully tough enough to contain this new variant.

There is optimism that “by the middle of February, if things go well and with a fair wind in our sails, we expect to have offered the first vaccine dose to everyone in the top four priority groups identified by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation… And of course, that will eventually enable us to lift many of the restrictions we have endured for so long”

But… until then we are still in a very serious health situation where we all need to do our part to keep us all safe.

The Government directions on hospitality and accommodation providers is clear, and at the time of writing we have been given no guidance to the end date of the present restrictions.

We have to therefore consider what that means for the opening of Kenegie Manor for commercial guests in February 2021 and the potential hurdles we face in our supply chain.  We also need to act responsibly for the safety and welfare of us all.

While things are still uncertain as to an end date, it is only fair to provide as much clarity as we can for us all and our guests, which without clarity will be disinclined to commit to travel.

We also need to be minded of the problems for you in visiting site and completing your own winter works in such a short space of time with potential problems with the availability of local suppliers etc.  So we want to ease a bit of pressure and give us all one thing less to worry about!

We have taken the decision to postpone the opening of  the clubhouse building at Kenegie Manor by a few weeks  and the letting scheme  until  Monday 08th March 2021, (reviewed on 01st March 2021) this year.

Guests who already have bookings will be  contacted directly by email and telephone and they will be able to change their holiday without admin fees to another break in 2021 or claim a full immediate no quibble  refund.

This will slightly ease the pressure for owners for a couple of weeks regarding winter works, our suppliers in the supply chain and also deliver some clarity – which I firmly believe is needed during this time so we can all prepare and deliver a positive Summer 2021 Season.

Questions and Answers

Q:    I am on the letting scheme/ you provide housekeeping services 
If you are on the letting scheme or we provide housekeeping services we will be providing and delivering  all our  usual winter  works  services as usual during this time to be ready for 08th March 2021  We will not be able to provide changeover cleaning or laundry services before Monday 08th March 2021. This gives us all a few more weeks to prepare and also clarity to guests as well.

Q:     Can I visit site as a leaseholder?
A:     Every leaseholders circumstances are different and you should read the latest government advice and form your own opinion. The latest link to the government advice is here – click here
The directions do, however make an exception “where it is essential to stay there for work purposes”  You would need to satisfy the  local authorities, if challenged that your visit was, in fact, considered essential….

Q:    I am not on the letting scheme.  Can I let my property to guests before 08th March 2021
A:    Not for holidaymakers (leisure purposes) no (unless the lockdown is lifted before 08th March 2021) There are however very limited   exceptions where guests are allowed for essential work purposes only.

Q:     When will the clubhouse be open ?
A       We aim to open on Monday 08th March 2021. The refurbishment is coming on very well and is starting looking really good!

Q:      Will the office still be open ?

A:       Yes of course ! The office will remain open Monday – Friday 1000 – 1600hrs and we will be delivering all  our services to you as   usual. (Sometimes the office will be manned remotely)
It is business as usual for the grounds, winter works, Old Forge Bar refurbishment  etc. and we are so excited about the way the bar is shaping up and the grounds are looking nice.
