Good evening ! How are you keeping ? Since opening in April 2021 it has been so lovely to see hospitality re-opening their doors in Cornwall and to see you face to face again. One of the things that is so heart warming is the genuine excitement by the team to be back doing what we do best ; providing the best experience we can for our guests and yourselves. Our commitment to delivering good hospitality is at the heart of what we do. LETTING NEWS It is not news to you that the UK Staycation market is experiencing a healthy year, but we should never get complacent about this but we should grab all the opportunities that face us moving forward. Our eyes are now shifting towards end September and October breaks and 2022. Over the past few weeks we have noticed that September, October and 2022 bookings have gained pace because of the on-going uncertainty of overseas travel in 2021. With this we have noticed a sharp move away from the traditional 3 night off peak short break market to longer 4/7 night holidays. Our 2022 “price rewind” campaign is starting to gain traction which shows that guests are happy to commit earlier for their holidays and not miss out. Every guest on the letting scheme is encouraged to book their 2022 Staycation before they leave which will secure your loyal guest into your unit. We will write to all owners on the letting scheme with your usual July 2021 Letting Income Statement issued on or around 31st July 2021 (for all bookings with arrivals to 30th June 2021) with further details, and details of the Winter development of ICal to make it more user friendly (we accept it is a little clunky at the moment) but in the mean time we would suggest that you pencil in with the office your owner booking dates for 2022 OLD FORGE RESTAURANT NEWS Thank you so much for the great feedback on the Old Forge Restaurant, we will be launching our new Summer Menu on Monday 19th July 2021 – watch this space. Have you tried the freshly landed at Newlyn catch of the day ? Don’t forget to ask for your owners discount ! Since opening in April 2021 this part of the business really has come on in leaps and bounds and we are delighted with its development. We are looking forward to hosting Bryhers Boys again this season! SO WHAT IS HAPPENING AFTER MONDAY 19TH JULY 2021 AT KENEGIE ? You, our guests and ourselves have done an absolutely sterling job since March 2020 in keeping us all safe and COVID19 free, as a community, and it would be unwise to think the pandemic will be over at one minute past midnight on Monday 19th July 2021 ! We want to make the careful, balanced and most correct decisions based on listening to our guests, and you, so we can all continue to keep safe but also, which is becoming more relevant, to deliver returning guests back to us – feeling safe. You may have heard myself and the team coin the term actual -v- perceived risk. We want to, as quickly as we can move away from any site and clubhouse imposed restrictions and get back 100percent to what we all do best – looking after you and our guests! We all understand that the vaccine “wall” has reduced the risk but it has been far from eradicated. Boris Johnson commented yesterday, “if we can’t re-open our society in the new few weeks, when we will be helped by the arrival of summer and by the school holidays, then we must ask ourselves when will we be able to return to normal?” With this in mind, we will email again on Tuesday 13th July 2021 our plan from Monday 19th July 2021. Don’t get too excited – we may invest in a better brand of sanitiser ! We are looking forward, maybe to seeing the bottom half of your faces again ! Until next week ! Stay safe, stay sane, keep smiling ! All the best Ed PS Please do reach out anytime, either via email or the ICat forum ! We are here for you! |
